How does the Victron SmartShunt work?
The Victron SmartShunt works by measuring the battery’s voltage and current and transmitting this information via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app. The app uses this data to calculate the battery’s state of charge, power, and other parameters. The Victron SmartShunt also features built-in Bluetooth connectivity, for viewing battery performance with a smartphone or tablet.

How to install the Victron SmartShunt
Installing the Victron SmartShunt is a straightforward process:
- Disconnect the battery from the charging source.
- Connect the Victron SmartShunt labeled “TO BATTERY MINUS” to the negative cable of the battery.
- Connect the other end of the NEGATIVE CABLE TO Victron SmartShunt labeled “TO SYSTEM MINUS”.
- Connect the provided fused power wire to the Victron SmartShunt Vbatt+ located at the bottom of the shunt to a 12V DC positive battery source.
- Reconnect the battery to the charging source.
- Refer to the battery specification sheet and the Victron SmartShunt manual for configuration changes. Load the Victron SmartConnect app to your smart phone pr tablet. Access the SmartShut app, click the setting gear logo located at the top right of the app, and change the settings per battery and manual recommendations.
