But, camping is just part of the experience at Stone Mountain Park. There is so much for the entire family to experience from hiking in nature, the trek to the top of Stone Mountain, great bike trails, fishing, nightly laser shows on the lawn, historic sites, two championship golf courses, ride the scenic railroad, visit the kids attraction park, and so much more.
Stone Mountain Campground
There are multiple campgrounds that range from large paved, full hook-up, big rig friendly sites, those that surround the pool and kids activity area, large wooded spots, tent camping along the edge of the lake, even yurts and camper rentals.
In the video below, we take you along for a brief review though some of the campgrounds. There are a wide variety of campgrounds with over 400 sites offering a wide variety of camping experiences. Site range from:
- Very large “glamping” spots along the edge of the lake,
- Big rig friendly, heavy wooded full hook-up sites,
- Large and small sites around the pool and kid’s play area,
- Wooded water and electric sites,
- Beautiful tent sites along the lake, and
- Yurt and camper rentals.
We had no problem finding a site in the mid-priced campground for our 42 foot Montana 5th wheel. Our site was located in L campground with wooded and graveled sites, full 50 amp hook-up with cable, picnic table, and grill. We liked the design of the campground providing ample space between the RVs along with the heavy wooded area giving us relief from the hot summer sun.
