This is a very large campground with multiple loops offering a wide variety of campground amenities from basic water and electric only, full service in a wooded environment to premium spots with decks and gas grills. Then there’s the lake views. On this clear day, the view of the lake with Stone Mountain located on the adjacent side was simply spectacular. There’s also tent camping and yurts that were recently constructed.
If the campground is your only destination, there’s a great area to keep the family entertained with horse shoe pits, volley ball and a very large playground center for the kids along with a large pool open during the warmer months.
But, there’s so much more. There are additional fees associated with other activities offered in the park such as the village, cable car to the top of the mountain, scenic railroad, dinosaur experience and so much more. Plus there’s numerous festivals offered throughout the year.
This is our first time to the campground, but will bring more of the family back for our next visit.
