St Augustine Lighthouse

The St Augustine Lighthouse, the surrounding grounds and buildings were amazing. The lighthouse was built in 1874 and the Keeper’s house followed in 1876. After many years of neglect and a fire that heavily damaged the Keepers’ House, the Junior Service League of St. Augustine began their painstaking, yet dedicated efforts to restore the amazing piece of history.

In the video, we take you into the lighthouse, up the 219 steps, then show you the amazing views atop. Again, simply amazing. We also go into the restored Keepers’ House and a number of other buildings and grounds surrounding the lighthouse.

Such a fun and entertaining afternoon. And we were not along. There was a large number of others on this mid-June day equally enjoying the beautiful lighthouse.
