RV Life in Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry
Campgrounds
The campground was conveniently located and we had a pull-though with all hook-ups including 50 amp electric, water, sewer and cable. The campground was completing a major upgrade while we were there converting all sites to 50 amp along with some water system improvements. About half the roads are paved and the sites are hard packed gravel. They have a small pool and playground for the kids and several fenced in dog walks. Music Valley Drive has a number of campgrounds including a large Camping World for those “Oh Shoot! I forgot that thing!” needs. Some of the other campgrounds on this stretch are nicer, but for this time of year, we couldn’t beat the price.
Opryland Hotel
Before joining the RV travel tribe, we stayed at the Opryland Hotel and Convention Center. If you’re an RV’er and stay in the area, it’s definitely a stop to tour. The hotel has a wide range of restaurants, shopping and bars. All is a bit on the pricey side, but still a great place to tour and enjoy the space.
Grand Ole Opry
We absolutely love going to the Grand Ole Opry. You may not be a country music fan (We’re split here. Joan loves Country music and I’m the Jazz fan.) but, it more than just the music, it’s the experience. What you may not know is the Grand Ole Opry is the longest running radio show founded in 1925. Regardless of the night your go, you’ll be entertained with a wide variety of music from the big stars of the past to modern country. On this trip we heard Bill Anderson, Lori Morgan, Ricky Skaggs, The Whites, Montgomery Gentry and a number of new up starts. Ticket costs are reasonable and you’ll have a great night of entertainment.
Where to buy boots?
The answer to this questions is anywhere and everywhere. There are boot shops everywhere – downtown, shopping malls and along the highway. There are deals everywhere with half off and 2-for-1 with costs from cheap to thousands of dollars.
I found a great boot shop close to the RV park and in the middle of the music venue on Music Valley Drive. Let me say this I didn’t receive any compensation for this review. I found the boot selection and the sales people at Trail West to be great. They had a perfect pair to go with my faded jeans and prices were very competitive.
As always, I love RV life, Jerry
