Patriot’s Point – USS Laffey

by | Feb 2, 2017

While at Patriot’s Point just outside of Charleston, SC, we toured a number of ships. This is the USS Laffey, famous for surviving a monumental WWII Japanese attack and although badly damaged, survived four bombs and six kamikaze crashes. The ship had a distinguished career commissioned in 1944 serving in WWII, the Korean War, and starting in 1956, the Cold War as a submarine hunter-killer until the ship was decommissioned in 1975.

The video below is from our walk-through of this historic ship.
