Monument Portable Grill – The Perfect Camping Grill
As we travel in our RV we’ve always had a challenge finding a portable grill that has the features and cooking capabilities of the larger grills designed for home use. In our nine years of RV travel, we have tried most portable grill manufacturers, you know, the green, blue, red, and gray ones. While each may have been portable, cooking was a challenge due to lack of grill space and managing burner heat. Plus, the grilling surface just didn’t match what is often found on home grills, those weird wafer/slotted things or thin cast iron grates. Most of the portable grills we’ve owned failed in some fashion in less than a year and finding replacement parts were impossible. We were contacted by Monument Grills and found they have created the perfect solution for a quality, yet affordable portable grill for RV travel.
Using a Portable Grill
We enjoy grilling. It doesn’t matter if we’re at home or traveling about in our 5th wheel, the grill is often used several times a week to cook some of our favorite meals. It’s not about burgers or hot dogs, we often stretch our menu to include steak, Worcester and butter chicken (A big favorite!), a wide variety of fish, and seafood. Vegetables often make it to the grill to top off a meal. On some of our trips, we’re grilling with family and friends and many of the smaller portable grills just don’t have the cooking surface to handle larger meals. That’s where the portable grill by Monument Grills stands out. Look at these features.

Our Experience with the Monument Grill
Our experience using the Monument Grill exceeded our expectations for a portable grill. Although this is a small portable grill, the cooking experience was similar to what you would expect from larger home models. The burners with the large control knobs easily adjust heat levels perfect for searing steaks, yet low enough to cook vegetables without burning. And the over 200 square inches of cooking surface was the largest we’ve experience with a portable grill and supports our large perforated pan used for grilling fish and seafood. Overall, we give the Monument Grill an A+ for quality of construction and cooking features. This portable grill will get plenty of use during our RV travels.
