This year we selected Little Ocmulgee State Park located in Helena, GA. The campground is located due south of Dublin, GA off Interstate 16. We had several camping friends who selected this park last year and we understand why. The campground has large sites, easy access with paved roads and most are level with gravel. Even those with a slope were minimal and most RVs should have no problem leveling.
This state park is different than most with around 10 or more sites that had full hook-ups with water, electric, sewer, even cable. A small number even had 50 amp. We chose our site based on location and not the hook-up only giving up the sewer connection. Small inconvenience for a week stay, plus we carry a “blueboy” just in case.
Next to the campground was a park area offering enclosed and open pavilions, putt-putt course, several playgrounds, volleyball courts, a water splash park and a large lake for boating and fishing. The park also has an 18 hole golf course, lodge and restaurant all within walking distance from the campground.
You can’t beat the low cost for over night camping at a state park and along with the large sites and amenities, this is one park you’ll want to try soon.
