Last Week in North Georgia. Having Fun? Absolutely!
This is our last week in North Georgia and Joan and are having a great time. We packed the week with quite the adventure returning to some our favorite North Georgia vineyards, found two new locations as we venture to the northeastern section of the state, and even crossed the state line into North Carolina for a favorite. The week didn’t stop there as we took a trip into the pretty Bavarian style village of Helen, GA for gift shopping and a German inspired lunch. We will miss our friends at Leisure Acres Campground and look forward to returning next year for another North Georgia adventure.
Area Vineyards
In the video below we returned to several of our favorite vineyards in North Georgia along with a vineyard in North Carolina just across the state line. We also ventured a little over an hour northeast of the campground and discovered to two excellent vineyards. The end of October was perfect for the visits – crowds were manageable and the views were amazing. The trees were starting to get their fall colors and the vineyards still had leaves after the last pick of fruit. And for the weekend trips, most had live music with excellent talent at each location. After our YouTube trip video below, I’ve provide a few short samples of some of the local talent.
Helen, GA
We couldn’t leave the area without a trip to Helen, GA. Going mid-week in October is a great time with manageable crowds, plenty of parking and easy seating in most of the restaurants. Joan wanted to catch a number of the specialty shops for a few unique gifts and we finished with a German inspired lunch.
Much more to share in the video and I’ve provided helpful links of all the places visited below. And if you need directions to any of the places we travel to, visit our travel map and click on one of the many pins for directions and additional information.
