Dahlonega GA
On this trip, we skipped the tour of the Gold Museum located in the town square in the old County Court House. We’ve toured the museum many times and it offers much from the history of the first gold strike in North Georgia, gold mining and history of the area.
We’ve also found Dahlonga GA to be a great lunch destination for a number of very good restaurants and you can cap off the day with a a wine tasting or a trip to one of the delicious fudge shops.
Speaking of shops, Dahlonega has a wide range of high end custom jewelry stores with custom pieces made from the many stones mined in the area along with one that specialized in pieces made for actual Dahlonega gold. There’s an old style General Store with a little bit of everything from local honey, crafts and seasonal goodies.
For the RV’er, there are a wide range of campgrounds in the area and Dahlonega GA is a fun place for everyone in the family to visit.
As always, I Love RV Life, Jerry
