Cross Creek RV Park – Maggie Valley NC
If you’ve watched iLoveRVlife for any period of time, there’s a common theme that often comes across – we love the southern Appalachian Mountains. I grew up in Georgia, but was born in Bristol, VA, so I guess these hills are part of my DNA. But it’s more than genetics, it’s the people, culture, weather, and fun things to do that Joan and I enjoy the most. We decided we would get away from the Georgia heat for most of the summer and campgrounds in the higher mountain elevations were on our list. We were fortunate to find a month stay at Cross Creek RV Park located in the heart of Maggie Valley, NC and we fell in love with this campground.
Cross Creek RV Park
Cross Creek RV Park is located at 1354 Moody Farm Rd in the heart of Maggie Valley. The campground is split in half by the road with a creek side area and the larger part of campground located across the road.
The campground is big rig friendly. Most sites are back-in, but there are a few pull-through sites. We had no problem backing our 42 ft Montana in our spot. We were instructed to call 10 minutes before we arrive and as we entered the campground, we had two campground hosts waiting to guide us to our site and spot us as we parked.
You must be self contained to stay. There’s no bath house and tents aren’t allowed. Since we treat our 5th wheel as our “apartment we drag behind a dually”, this wasn’t an issue. The campground has full hook-ups, 50 amp, cable, and WiFi. Although we were located deep in a valley we were able to get reasonable Verizon and AT&T was fair using our HiBoost cell phone booster.
The campground is spotless, with great pride taken by the owners, hosts and the many who were staying at Cross Creek RV Park. The RV park is well maintained, roads and sites are graveled, and the grounds were always groomed.
For the summer, most of the days were in the high 70’s to low 80’s and the mornings very cool often in the upper 60’s. The campground operates from May 1 through October 31, and offers daily, weekly and monthly rates.
We enjoyed spending part of our summer at Cross Creek RV Park and look forward to returning soon.
