You never know where the RV adventure will take you. Sometimes to beautiful mountains, maybe a historic location or just a place of peace and quite to get away. But, this weekend was different. This was a packed, 3-day weekend of camping and travel baseball in Dublin, GA.

Joan and I, with the grandkids, daughter Julie and Coach Josh, traveled to the Southern Pines Regional Park located in Dublin, GA for a weekend of high-intensity travel baseball. This is not your typical Little League play. These boys are hand picked and groomed for intense baseball play and they love every minute. It didn’t matter that is was almost 100 degrees and over 90 percent humidity, over 100 teams came to play serious baseball.

Despite the heat, we loved watching the kids play. Some of the games were run-a-way wins or losses and some were decisions of one point between the two teams. Regardless, the boys loved to play along with parents, grandparents and friends by the thousands watching the games over the weekend.

Thank goodness, Southern Pines Regional Park offered a campground on-site. It was basic, but we were 3 minutes from the baseball fields and this gave us a place to escape the heat between games and take the tired crew back in the evenings for cookouts and showers. The camper was full, but we managed for 3 days and had a great time. Oh yes, we were rained out late Sunday afternoon and the winners were chosen by total points scored over the weekend. Jake’s team came in second for the overall tournament. Wish we could have played the final match up. It would have been a great game!

So if you’re a travel baseball family, you can’t beat having a camper for these weekend tournaments away from home. It’s just another one of those things that proved to me that “I love RV life!”
