Bristol Caverns – Bristol, TN
Bristol Caverns is one of the oldest and most beautiful attractions in Bristol, Tennessee. The tour goes into three levels of the caverns from large chambers with giant columns in the upper section, continuing down through to the winding banks to an underground river 180 feet below on the cavern floor. Along this underground river, we saw giant boulders, limestone formations and a swollen underground from recent rain. Leaving the lower section, we arrived at Lover’s Leap, viewed the breathtaking Bridal Veil formation and the amazing giant Entrance Hall.
The Cavern Tour
Our tour guide was great giving us information about the stalactites and stalagmites, some larger than tree trunks. Some of these formation in these giant cavern rooms have grown together with massive columns reaching from the floor to the ceiling.
This was a fun way to spend a few hours seeing nature’s beauty and these cavern formations that have taken thousands of years to create. A must see if your in the Bristol, Tennessee area.
