Biltmore House – Asheville NC
I wish I could explain the shear majesty of this great American castle, but there aren’t enough adjectives for me to use. The architecture, construction, and the latest technology for the era were used to build this magnificent estate. Built between 1889 and 1895 by then 32 year old George Vanderbuilt, this American castle consists of 178,926 square feet of floor space. The house has 250 rooms of which 33 are bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces, 70,000 gallon indoor pool and so much more. Truly an amazing structure, spectacular architecture and a level of craftsmanship that takes one’s breath away.
There’s so much to see and experience:
Biltmore House,
Gardens & Grounds, and
Biltmore’s Antler Hill Village & Winery.
This can be an all day destination. We visited in early February and we unable to experience the beautiful gardens due to the winter season. That didn’t dampen our visit and we had full access to the spectacular Biltmore House. I’ll save the write up here and encourage you to view the video below as we walked thought the House.
